Reasonable scale of pumped-storage plant plays an important role in the safety and economical efficiency of grid operation. The reasonable scale of pumped-storage plant required in power system depends on the power resource structure. In the thesis, the power supply optimized planning model based on the power source characteristics in ECPN is established, including the sub-model of electric power and energy balance and peak regulation capacity balance and the sub-model of power system production operating simulation. The optimal scale of pumped-storage plant in object year is obtained by the synthetic analysis of all schemes, and the operating model of pumped-storage plant in ECPN is discussed. The main content of the thesis is as follows.(1)According to the electric-actuality and the current situation of power supply and load characteristics forecasting, the sub-model of electric power and energy balance and peak regulation capacity balance is established. Based on above, the working position of all classes of power station on the forecasted daily load curve can be arranged. The installed and peak regulation capacity required in object year is attained by the analysis of the increasable capacity in power source, and all schemes of power source planning in ECPN are studied out.(2)The sub-model of power system production operating simulation is established by definite and stochastic method. In every scheme, the coal consumption cost as a static profit is calculated by equal coal consumption increment method, and the dynamic profits including the loss of load probability and energy expectation not served are figured out by equivalent energy function method. Compared with all power resource schemes, the reasonable scale of pumped-storage plant in object year is acquired by replace plan method.(3)The operating model of pumped-storage plant has significant influence to the development of it in power system. Based on the operating model of pumped-storage plants both here and abroad, feasible operating models of pumped-storage plant in ECPN are analyzed, and the problem of electrovalence establishment which is imperative to resolve is also discussed under the reform of the separation of the generation from the electric power network and the bidding for pool purchase.
