Since China entered into the WTO in 2001, the international trade has increasedrapidly. However, at the same time the conflicts between China and other countriesbecome more and more frequent. How to avoid trade conflicts and how to protect ourindustry is a problem that we must deal with. This article analyze the ShipbuildingSubsidy Conflicts in EU and Korea in order to find something useful .In this case,WTO clarified some of its former items and provided some methods to examinewhether a subsidy exists or not. In this article, we specially focus on three points, thatis, how to identify a public body;how to choose a market benchmark and finally howto deal with the program and the individual transactions separately. Through theanalysis of this case, we could have a clear idea about WTO's attitude towardsdifferent subsidies and financial contributions. At last, this article gives somesuggestions to China's shipbuilding industry .The government should support theshipbuilding industry by effective measures which could stimulate the upgrading ofthe industry and the development of techniques and skills.
