Research On Supplier Selection Aimed At Supply Chain

The various demands created by the increasingly fierce competition of globalizedeconomy have brought about prevalent concern on Supply Chain and Supply ChainManagement (SCM). SCM coordinates various activities of the joints in Supply Chainto achieve the most profit of enterprises. With the advent of contracted business andglobalized stocking, the selection of suppliers has become the focus of the presentSCM.According to the evolution of the concept of Supply Chain, this paper exploresthe position of suppliers in the Supply Chain based on the basic theory of SCM toprovide the common guideline in the selection and evaluation of suppliers for theenterprises and to analyze primarily the influence of Electronic Commerce (EC) onthe selection of suppliers.Chapter 1 discusses the analysis background, significance, and the actuality bothhome and abroad. Chapter 2 considers the origin and the development of SupplyChain, systematic structure model and operation of Supply Chain. As the source ofSupply Chain, supplier takes on the input task of manufacturing resources, thus isvery important;in chapter3, the paper discusses the function of supplier in the SupplyChain and the features of supplier relations. As a focus of this paper, the Chapter 4deals with common approaches in setting up evaluation index system of the selectionof supplier. It is of great guiding significance in that it addresses on how to select thebest supplier and how to establish the cooperation with them. The most innovativepart in chapter 5 analyzes the influence of EC on the selection of suppliers. The rapiddeveloped EC provides more flexibility in the selection of suppliers and providesmore cooperation methods. It also points out the risk and protections for enterprises insuch environment. Chapter 6 serves as a concert example to provide a quantitativeanalysis based on Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) on the selection of the bestgasket supplier for plant A subordinated to the Shengli Refinery of Qilu PetrochemicalCorporation.
