The Studies On Procurement Administration Of Electronic Manufacturing Industry

Since 80s of the 20^th Century, with the development of science & technology and the globalization of economy, electronic manufacturing industry has become a rapidly growing industry with fierce competition. At the same time, the role of procurement was changed from a logistic function to a key function, to whom much attention was given. The position of procurement was greatly promoted compared with what it was before. The impact that procurement administration has on the competence of a company was gradually aware and acknowledged by theorists and enterprisers, and has become their object of study. After late 90s of the 20th Century, electronic manufacturing industry in China started to develop greatly. How to improve the procurement administration of Chinese electronic manufacturing enterprises in order to get it more adaptable to the severe competition situation in and outside China has become a commonly focused issue. The idea of this thesis goes as following: What is the importance of procurement to electronic manufacturing industry, what is the procurement strategy of world leading electronic manufacturing enterprises, what kind of tool and method they employ to effectively manage procurement. Then find out what is the gap between Chinese electronic manufacturing enterprises and world leading electronic manufacturing enterprises in terms of procurement administration concept and method, and study how Chinese enterprises should selectively learn from the experience of world leading enterprises, and creatively apply it based on its own features, in order to improve its procurement administration. In a word, Chinese electronic manufacturing enterprises should base on its own situation, first change its procuring concept, then redesign organization structure and procurement process flow, emphasize on supplier management, use information technique tools for procurement handling, communicate and share information/fruits with partners, so that it can reduce procuring cost, improveprocuring efficiency and make itself more adaptable to the fierce competition in the market.
