As a branch of Geo-Visualization, 3D geological modeling is a new domain. Through the geological boundary and characteristic data, it can simulate the surface morphological characters and the internal attributes of the geologic body by using computer and reproduce the true geologic body on drawing mode to make people understand the structure of geological space more intuitionally. Therefore, it has a great significance of the studies on the correlation algorithm about 3D geological modeling.3D geological structure modeling based on Corner-point grids generation is studied through horizon modeling, faults modeling and stratigraphic sequence modeling. In terms of algorithm, the emphasis and difficulty during the process of establishing models is analysed, and the corresponding solutions are proposed to establish the geological models.Firstly, three data structure of the Delaunay triangulation algorithm including points, edges and triangles are designed to achieve the Delaunay triangulation of the mass data rapidly, and then traces contour and fills colors into isograms to achieve the establishment of horizon model. Secondly, according to fault data of sticks types, the method of weighted average is used to set up fault model. A generation algorithm of gridding constrained by faults is given on studying the corner-point grids generation technology, and the 3D space skeleton model is built. Then 3D stratum model is achieved through insert horizons. At the same time, on the basis of the modeling above and the principles of stratigraphic sequence, following the way of stratigraphic sequence, the stratums are subdivided to get sequence model. Finally, on the basis of structure mode, geological properties model is built by using the inverse distance to a power method to estimate the value of the grid node, and cross-section display from any angle is realized.A 3D geological modeling system is designed by Visual C++ 6.0 and OpenGL based on the outcomes of study above. It has satisfactory results in terms of visualization.
