The development of computer technology is now changing the traditional ways of managing or utilizing literature resources in a library. Especially, as the development of the internet technology, people can retrieve or collect useful literatures in different means. Meanwhile, this change also brings a revaluation of the management of the literature in a library, by which people can achieve it over the internet. Online literature managing system computerizes the collection and retrieval of the literature resources, and breaks through the space and time boundary. Long-distanced maintenance of the resources can be achieved; the burden can be reduced, work efficiency can be increased, and brand services can also be extended and enhanced.With the development of the internet technology and library information science, in the middle of 20th century, western developed countries began to collect and utilize the grey literature. Japan began to build different kinds of grey literature data base in late 20th century. In China, though it began late, internet explosion helps to build a large scale of grey literatures website. In this article, grey literature means the local publication issued by a college, or by higher authorities, and it also means the different kinds of disordered literature resources. This can be a complement to readers'request. Time can be saved and resource utilization ratio can also be increased.The distinctive literature management platform is a system based on a three-layer distribution structure SOA technology, which includes web browser, web server and database server. The distinctive literature collection and retrieval system under the B/S structure, only requires the client no more software but to install a browser. Maintenance can be much easier. Building the distinctive literature collection and retrieval online platform is to increase the readers'retrieval efficiency, the administrators'work efficiency, and to achieve the resource sharing. The main functions of the system are to grant the registered reader authorizations, to collect and sort literature online, to provide multi-keywords retrieval, to grant readers browse or download literatures online, to provide the administrators long-distanced managing and maintaining the system base on the web mode. This system adopts the B/S structuring model, which abandons the dependence and bondage of the client in a C/S structure. In order to maintain and extend the system,The three-layer structuring design provides the system a transportability and reusability.It is quite significant to achieve the computerization of the distinctive literature management, share of the resources, and the digitalization of the library. This can help to increase the level of distinctive literature management, to retrieve easily, to provide readers convenient, considerate, and swift information services, it can promote the whole image and the management of the college. This system is composed of two sub-systems named distinctive literature collection and distinctive literature retrieval. The distinctive literature collection sub-system is in charge of collecting and sorting the local publications issued by the college or the disordered resources on the internet. According to the retrieval items such as the part or the whole of the title, publishing or issuing date, author, or source, literature resources can be added into this system. The distinctive literature retrieval sub-system is in charge of readers'accessing to the website by browser, retrieving literatures by keywords on different items of title, publishing or issuing date, author, or source. Two authority settings of the system consists of system administers and VIP readers.According to the whole data structure of the distinctive literature collection and retrieval system, with the E-R diagram, system analysis and module design, user-satisfied entities are made. With the entity relations, a primary design of the database functions.This article expatiates on the system function design, database function design, system design and running, and the access and visit to the database of the distinctive literature collection and retrieval system, which can provide readers an efficient way to retrieve the disordered literature resources on the internet, as an important supplement of the literature resources in the local college.
