Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is a set composed by a number of embedded nodes integrate sensor module, computing module and communication module. These nodes are resource constrained and interact with each other by wireless connection. It bases on many advanced technology such as micro electronic technology, embedded computing technology, modern network and communication technology, distribute information technology. The nodes can monitor, sense and sample the information of the area covered by the WSN in real time cooperatively. The sampled information then be processed and send to the observer through multi-hop wireless connection. As a important and new technolegy in information area, WSN has gained a lot of attention in worldwide.WSN is utility relative, this means in different occasion, specific strategy should be adopted to optimize the performance of WSN. With the progress of times, the use range of WSN will be wider and wider, the present WSN protocol may not satisfy some occasion perfectly. So more new protocols should be introduced. At present, popular WSN MAC protocols based on competition such as S-MAC,T-MAC, don't have good performance in higher load occasion. In order to solve this problem. This thesis present a new WSN MAC protocol—multi-probability joint control multi-channel random access protocol. This protocol is used to improve the capability of WSN which works in higher load situation. This protocol can be used in WSN which works in a high load situation on the long run, or in WSN with abrupt mass data transmission. The idea of this protocol is : divide the busy periods into two parts, packets sending period and transmitting delay period. If some packet arrives in the packets sending period, it detects the channel with probability p2 continuously until the channel is idle; if some packet arrives in the transmitting delay period, it detects the channel with probability p3 continuously until the channel is idle, then the packet will be send away. In the idle period, if some packet is arrived, it will be send with probability p1. By selecting the values of three probabilities properly, the network system will have good performance.Protocol also introduce multi-channel technology to satisfy the need of high quality of service with multiple priorities. The principle of distributing channel to different priority is: higher priority can possess more channels than the lower ones, and the fairness is also considered. In this thesis, use average cycle analysis method to analyze and evaluate the throughput of system, throughput of different priority, average delay and average system energy consumption. Then through result of computer emulation experiment we can conclude that the system which adopts this protocol has a high quality of service. At the end of this thesis , the program design procedure and performance tesing experiment of this MAC protocol on GAINZ platform is introduced.
