Descriptor system has received more and more attention due to its profound and practical background. Many results on regular systems have been extended to descriptor system. Owing to the increasing demand for high reliability in many industrial processes, much attention has been paid to the problem of fault-tolerant in descriptor systems. Meanwhile, the time-delay is frequently viewed as a source of instability and encountered in various engineering systems such as chemical processes, long transmission lines in pneumatic systems, etc, the study of delay systems has received much attention. In the actual control of the process, the model error, the status and the impact of environmental factors, change for the conditions of the entering role, inevitably lead to uncertainty of model parameters. Therefore, the uncertain time-delay system is much closer to the actual model system. To study the uncertain time-delay robust fault-tolerant control system is of theoretical significance.Based on many fault-tolerant control theories, considering the related issues for fault-tolerant control of descriptor system with time-delay, the main contents in this thesis are as follows:Firstly, we introduce the topics of the background and significance of the research, review the development of fault-tolerant control of the situation, point out that the fault-tolerant control of the hot issues. Then we introduce basic theoretical knowledge which including Lyapunov theory, descriptor Riccati equation and the linear matrix inequality (LMI). Meanwhile, the Matlabtoolbox are introduced and some inequalities and lemmas are presented.Secondly, we respectively discuss the fault-tolerant control for a class of discrete system with time-delay, discrete descriptor system with time-delay, continuous descriptor system with time-delay, and uncertainty descriptor system with time-delay. Using Lyapunov stability theory and Matlabtoolbox, under the condition of sensor failure, we give the method of integral control and discuss the design of controller. Finally, examples are given to illustrate the validity of the proposed method.Finally, above on the results of the thesis, we make a general conclusion and propose some related issues of descriptor system with time-delay in the near future.
