With rapid development of wireless communication technology and mobile devices, peer-to-peer technology gets more and more extensive researchs and applications in the field of mobile wireless computing, then here comes a new area—mobile peer-to-peer. As a result of some characteristics of mobile environment, such as mobility, heterogeneity, dynamic characteristic and some limitations of mobile devices and so on, the research of mobile peer-to-peer faces a huge challenge. It is a key problem to research on topology and resource discovery strategy. Therefore, this paper designed network topology and resource discovery strategy in mobile network.Based on mature peer-to-peer technology and characteristic of mobile peer-to-peer, this paper improved existing technology to meet to mobile peer-to-peer environment. After analyzing kinds of network topology and resource discovery, advantages and disadvantages of kinds of mechanism are summarized, and design principles are determined. According to these discussions, this paper proposed MRDS which is designed for resource discovery in mobile peer-to-peer netwok.First of all, this paper presented network model of mobile peer-to-peer, which is DHT-based and location-aware. Inside the region, ring topology of Chord is adopted. The stability of network topology is improved. Different regions are connected with pure peer-to-peer construction, reliability is improved. Considering the inconsistency of topology caused by mobility of mobile peer-to-peer, MRDS adopted phiscal space modeling in order to construct a topology-aware overlay. Because of dynamic characteristic of mobile peer-to-peer, MRDS introduced adaptive peer and DHT.Secondly, relied on the construction of stable network topology, this paper introduced LChord which is a new lookup protocol. LChord provided precise query, but it could not provide complex query, so MRDS adopts logical space to build indices of data, and implements complex query, such as point query and range query. At last of the paper, we have evaluated the performance of critical technology of MRDS over the QualNet. Our experiments demonstrate that MRDS achieves quite good performance on successful rate of sending message and lookup latency.
