Electronic stabllity Program ESP,in the America and Japan: Vhicle Dynamic Control system(VDC)) is a system which can improve the handling and stability of vehicle,it was introduced in l995 by Bosch. The electronic stability program is a new type of vehicle active safety system, developed after antilock braking system and traction control system. It can control vehicle behavior in accordance with the driver's intention, road conditions and vehicle driving state to prevent critical situations and improve handling and stability of vehicle and driving safety more effectively and more remarkably. The ESP system is complicated system.The control method of the ESP system is the international research focus in the vehicle field. The main research content is divided into the following parts:1. To understand the principle ,work process and the structure of the ESP system, and compare the measured yaw rate with ideal yaw rate ,and use the error as the input of controller, finally use the logic threshold control algorithm to realize the value of ESP control.2. By analyzing the needs to the ESP system controller , the paper use LPC2292 MCU as the core to design the hardware circuit, and develop the ESP controller based on the logic threshold control algorithm and expansion of the peripheral hardware, including : wheel speed processing circuit, solenoid valves and pump motor drive circuit and back to liquid crystal display circuit.3. TheμC/OS-Ⅱ-imbedded Real-Time Operating System(RTOS) is successfully introduced and transplanted, and design the hardware and software of ESP system. The paper described idea and implementation of the different software modules and design the software of ESP system.4. This paper complete the hardware-in-the-loop simulation experiments on the design of the ESP control system. And the control strategy used in this article is verified. The test results verify: Automotive ESP control system hardware design is reasonably and practicable, the control strategy used by the software is correct and effective, The entire system is stable and reliable, effectively improved the vehicle lateral handling stability.
