TheⅤ-filter control system in water plant is a management and control integration system that combined with the technology of V-filter, and the main control unit of the system is PLC. From the following aspects, this paper described how to use the water treatment technology, instrument technology, industrial network technology, modern control theory to design the system controlling and managing the V-filter water treatment plant.1. Introduce technology features and future trend of modern water treatment.2. Introduce current status and future trend of automation in modern water treatment.3. Introduce technology features ofⅤ-filter.4. Design system network architecture according to the technology features ofⅤ-filter: The network of multi-PLC reduced the control risk in the water plant and guaranteed the safety of the water supply production.5. The design ofⅤ-filter hardware system:Design the cost-effective hardware system according to the technology features of V-filter.6. The design ofⅤ-filter software system:Design the control algorithm using the theory of PID control and sequence control for filtration process and backwashing process of V-filter.7. Analysis of system performance:Analyse the effectiveness of control system according to the characteristics of water production.
