Chaos is a newly developed subject. Because of its characteristics of sensitivity to initial condition, it has many potential applications. So chaos has become a popular topic. Chaos-based communication is one of promising applications of chaos.Theoretically, the performance of the non-coherent communication is not as good as that of the coherent communication. But because it doesn't need synchronization, it doesn't need to generate a same chaotic reference signal in receiving part. It only uses the non-coherent technology such as the related integral-based method to estimate the signal through the statistical characteristic. So the circuit is easy to achieve. In this paper, the chaos theory is firstly discussed. Then Chaos Shift Keying and some non-coherent estimation technology (Maximum-likelihood estimation, Halving Method, DP approach) for chaotic signal is introduced, and the performance of dynamical programming (DP) approach, which is one of the non-coherent estimation technologies, is evaluated. After analyzing the DP approach, it is used to achieve non-coherent communication. At last, according to the characteristics of the DP approach, a method which is used to restrain symbol errors is giving out.
