There are two limitations of the traditional surface modeling of car body. First, the surface modeling is complex and the cost of hardware used is high. Second, the times of making clay model are many, and it cost long time and much money, and the final effect of it depends on the experience of model maker. In addition, because of lack of technical means, the shape modification of partial car body can't completely satisfy the custom made and can't completely meet the requirements of users. So users have no alternative but to accept the existing modification programs. In response to these limitations, this subject build a surface modeling system of partial car body by researching the basic principles and methods of reconstruction partial car body and dynamic tracking and blending of virtual and reality based on single camera vision and augmented reality. In this system, we firstly get the intrinsic parameters and external parameters of camera by Zhang-Camera-Calibration. Then we get the three-dimensional coordinate of the partial car body by measuring technique with single camera vision. In accordance to the request of car body modeling, this paper provides a method that a triangle meshing algorithm of spatial points based on mapping of projection-grid by modifying two-dimensional Delaunay algorithm. Aimed at the shortage of the LOOP subdivision algorithm of triangle mesh, this paper provides a method of uniform subdivision algorithm of triangular mesh of surface based on LOOP subdivision. In this subject we still provide a algorithm to tracking the position and attitude of partial car body based on single camera vision. At Last we blend the model which reconstructed before or the new model of the partial car body to the video stream which is generated by shooting the real car body by the technique of augmented reality. This solution can simplify the design process of traditional three-dimensional surface modeling of car body, and can reduce the number of production of clay model, thereby reduce the time and cost of car body design. At the same time, it provides advanced technologies for customized modification of car body.
