Recursive Subdivision is a research focus in the theory and application of surface modeling during these years; it has been applied successfully in Computer Aided Design & Manufacture, Animitate, 3D data transmission and storage. The main idea of subdivision modeling is refining the control mesh recursively using subdivision rules, the new vertexes are computed by the average weighted sum of their neighbors from the old control net, the limit surfaces is convergent and smooth. The efficiency of subdivision algorithms, which reduce the cost of modeling, their flexibility and simplicity, especially the adaptability of arbitrary topology make them suitable for many interactive computer graphics applications. This thesis summarizes and studies the subdivision theory and classical model, a new triangular interpolatory subdivision schemes based on sqrt-3 method and Bernstain-Bézier spline was proposed. It is more efficient and adaptive in topology structure than parameter splines such as NURBS. In virtue of mature and profuse theory, it makes the surface construction of scatter data which is an important problem of CAGD simple and feasible.
