Calculation And Application Of Concurrent Connections Based On Netflow

The rapid development of Internet has accelerated the pace of information society forward. With the increasing desire for various kinds of information, people rely on the network are gradually enhancing. To save costs, improve efficiency, more and more enterprises have strengthened the network application. The popularity of network applications will certainly bring network management problems. To be more scientific and reasonable application of network information resources, managers need to fully understand the devices conditions and capacity and maintain the normal monitoring of network devices. This gives rise to a variety of network measurement tech.Flow technology as one of the current popular network measurement tech, has its unique advantages. NetFlow which is a Flow tech supported by Cisco is popular because of widely used of Cisco equipment. This paper researches the NetFlow data that collected on the intranet backbone of an ISP.The purpose of this paper is calculating the number of concurrent connections of accessing proxy server by the NetFlow data collected on the intranet. First, this paper introduces the basic principles and data features, and observes the inner law of the actual collected data. According to these principles, characteristics, rules, and purpose, it formulates the corresponding solution which comes out by a formula. The formula is used for calculate the concurrent connections. Then it can be viewed by manager.We designed a testing platform which is a subset of modules for a large-scale enterprises traffic management system. Therefore, all experimental data is actually generated, rather than simulation, so the results are more credible. The data generated by the actual calculation and verification, which proves that the calculation method is fast possible, both in terms of time and accuracy are within acceptable range.
