As the development of wireless communications technology, there is more research on the technical issues in the field of integration of heterogeneous wireless networks in recent years. This article focused on the current various wireless access technologies, analyzed the characteristics and present development of these networks, concluded the necessity and feasibility of the integration of networks, and summarized the methods on integration of heterogeneous wireless networks.One purpose of the integration of heterogeneous wireless networks is to effectively integrate the resources belonging to those networks, so as to achieve cooperative management and optimize the configuration. This article summarized the schemes of radio resource management in the heterogeneous networks, and discussed the issue of radio resource optimization from the network selection on user side. Through analysis on the protocol framework of future mobile multi-mode terminal, considering the diversity of service in next generation mobile communication, we design a module structure for the network selection function of multi-mode terminal. It is used to analyze the user's real-time service requirements, and perceive the current specific network environment, so as to dynamically adjust to select the best access network. In this article, the operation process of the structure was given, and we proposed a new algorithm for heterogeneous wireless networks selection based on this process. The algorithm analyzed the network selection issue using the fuzzy multi-objective decision-making theory, and set a model using the AHP algorithm for solving. Being different from the traditional network selection algorithm, this one emphasizes that different service has different network requirements, and analyzes the user's service application in detail, which is introduced into the model. The simulation result proved that the algorithm can make the network selection more flexible, it is beneficial to the optimization of the radio resource, and it can be some practicality.In addition, the dynamical network selection demands terminals to frequently handover between networks, so the handover technology is vital in the development of next generation networks. For the trend of future all-IP development, and the mobility management scheme based on network layer, this article deeply researched and probed the mobile IP technology. It analyzed the implementation principle and working mechanism of the mobile IPv4, mobile IPv6, and used NS-2 network simulation software to simulate the handover process when mobile nodes move between networks. At the same time, concerning on the handover shortcomings of mobile IPv4 and mobile IPv6 technology, we analyzed the handover process of its improvement schemes:HMIPv6, FMIPv6 and FHMIPv6, which is the combination of the former two technologies, and simulated it to prove its improvement. The Simulation results showed that, the FHMIPv6 technology can provide certain technical assurance for the terminal to handover between networks flexibly.
