Space-time processing for MIMO communication system underlys convergence of information theory, communications theory and signal processing theory. Information theory has shown that large gains in capacity of communication over wireless channels are feasible in MIMO systems. Space time coding involving coding across space and time is aimed at approaching the capacity limits of MIMO channels. Performances of various algorithms in MIMO wireless communications system have close relationships to channel models. Methods of modeling wireless channel are provided, and key techniques in MIMO systems are researched.Firstly, space-time-frequency-scattering channel model is analysised, then MIMO space-correlated channel model is provided, what is more, SUI and SCM channel models are explained. Secondely deterministic channel capacity, ergodic capacity and outage capacity are researched, elements impacting on outage capacity formula such as space-correlation, XPD are simulated and analysised.Based on MIMO channel model, performances of STBC, STTC in different channel models are researched. Then various detection methods about BLAST are simulated in different channel models.For MIMO precoding system, performances of single user SVD precoding, nonlinear THP precoding and multiuser regularized channel inversion precoding are simulated in different channel models. Moreover, various algorithms of antenna selection are simulated and its impact on channel capacity is analysised.
