Research On QoS Ontology-based Semantic Web Service Selection Technology

As an important process of Web service application, Web service selection is aimed at selecting the appropriate service based on the requirements from service requesters. With the fast development of Web services which provide the same function, the service selection based on the function match can not satisfy the requirements from service requesters, so that the quality of Web service becomes one of the important factors for service requesters to select the services.Currently, the service selection methods based on QoS lack the semantic description and match of QoS, and have the drawbacks in the coverage of Web services. Moreover, most service selection methods based on QoS can just pay attention to the service providers, and do not consider the personalized QoS requirements from service requesters, so that they can not select the most satisfied services for service requesters.In this paper, the semantic and ontology technology is introduced to the QoS field of Web services, and some questions are discussed, which are QoS ontology model based on semantic, QoS semantic match and quantitative match, semantic Web service selection based on QoS ontology. It gets the following achievements:1. QoS ontology model based on semantic is researched. The paper analyzes the drawbacks of current QoS model of Web service, and introduces semantic to the QoS description field of Web service, then proposes a QoS ontology model with the ability of semantic description, which supports the heterogeneous QoS description and measurement so as to provide the basis for the semantic Web service match and selection based on QoS ontology.2. The technology of semantic Web service match and selection based on QoS ontology is studied to meet the the personalized QoS requirements from service requesters. The paper proposes a semantic Web service selection algorithm based on QoS ontology, which centers on the personalized QoS requirements from service requesters, and it makes use of the QoS semantic and quantitative information to combine the QoS semantic match with QoS quantitative match, so as to select the most appropriate service for service requester. The algorithm not only meets the personalized QoS requirements from service requesters, but also improves the recall ratio of Web services. 3. Based on the research above and actual QoS application request in the field of video information delivery services, a prototype system for semantic Web service selection based on QoS ontology is analyzed and developed to verify the feasibility and validity for the semantic Web service selection algorithm based on QoS ontology, and the paper compares with the related service selection algorithms to analyze the results of the experiments.
