Nuclear signal source plays an important role in nuclear electronic technology and nuclear engineering field. The Signal Generator of Imitated Nuclear Radiation is an important research topic in this research area in recent years. This paper relies on State Special Military Pre-research Project and Natural Science Foundation of Chongqing Science and Technology Commission, we researched Signal Generator of Imitated Nuclear Radiation based on FPGA for the nuclear signal in time and amplitude on the statistical characteristics.Starting from the nuclear signal on time and amplitude's statistical properties, this paper introduces the statistical fluctuation that appeared in the detection for the randomicity of nuclear event itself, this makes nuclear signal taking on Poisson distribution on time and Gaussian distribution on amplitude, which established the important theoretical and practical foundation to research Signal Generator of Imitated Nuclear Radiation.Existing signal generator of imitated nuclear radiation use analog circuit structures mostly, The signal precision and controllability is unsatisfactory, and circuit complexity. This design based in pseudo-random uniformity number, it produces random numbers of gaussian distribution and exponential distribution by arithmetic. using a piece of FPGA's device to simulate the Bernoullitrial, obtained the random pulse of exponential distributed on pulse interval, poisson distribution on count rate and gaussian distribution on amplitude, proven time and amplitude characteristics can be used for simulation of general nuclear sources by the statistical tested distribution to the output pulses.On the basis of these studies, the design combines the advantage of FPGA and Verilog HDL, simulates statistical characteristics of nuclear signal from time and amplitude with Verilog HDL as system logic description instrument. The use of top-down and hierarchical design method, it passed synthesis, optimization, placement and routing, timing simulation etc.with EDA software platform, and is verified on Altrea EP1C12Q240C8 FPGA chip.The results showed that This simulated nuclear signal generator, not only can generate poisson distribution on time and gaussian distribution on amplitude of random pulse, but also can generate controllable periodic pulse. At the meantime, can generate arbitrary signal such as the sinusoidal,square wave,triangular wave etc by changing the DDS waveform data look-up table. |
