Along with the development of e-commerce and other Internet applications, the technology of Mobile Agent is more and more widely applied in various sectors. Meanwhile, as the development of the attack technology and the influence of pursuiting interests, the security problems of Mobile Agent is worsening, and it should not be overlooked. This article focuses on the Windows environment which is the most common. The work characteristics of Mobile Agent and their own security needs are both analysed in this paper, and the specific solutions are proposed. Our work includes the following:1. The mode and the characteristic of Mobile Agent are analysed.according to the feature involved; the actual security requirements are discussed. Various demands for security requirements are classsfied to find the root of problem.2. Windows is the typical operating environment of Mobile Agent. The working principles of the system are studied, including kernel scheduling, file systems, process management and so on. The technical principles are summarized, and appropriate security mechanisms are explored.3. An universal framework of self-protection for Mobile Agent in Windows environment is proposed. This framework supports a variety of standardized security mechanisms for loading, running and removes. Users may load the necessary self-protection module in different environments on-demand. The framework is extensible, and it supports the third-party self-protection module which can be dynamic integrated through the standard interfaces.4. File protection, registry protection and process protection, which is the typical self-protection mechanism are designed and implemented. The functions above mentioned are operated through a standard modul in the framework of self-protection .It provides a high strength protection for Mobile Agent.
