Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an advanced automatic identification and data collection technology which has developed fast in recent years. RFID has great capacity, long reading distance, and can read and write data on several labels at the same time.This paper studied on library management system base on RFID. Firstly, this paper introduced the development and status of RFID technology at home and abroad. Then it analyzed the content as well as its concept, working principle, and typical application of RFID technology. It summarized the advantage and disadvantaged the library application of RFID. It also included the design of database, overall framework workflow of the system, the design and implementation of the business logic layer and database connection layer.The library management system was developed with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.Net and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. Programming language is C#. It was a C/S model based on RFID. The system focused on the RFID used in the library management. The computer communicates with RFID reader to get data and store it in the central database. The system function included book cataloging, book borrowing and returning, book renew, book management, reader management, system setting, and anti-theft. It can implement most of the routine work in library.
