WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network) is a kind of wireless network which puts wireless sensors on human body to monitor the physical condition and it has an important application in our daily life, medical care and entertainment field. In WBAN, human body which is considered as the carrier of all kinds of sensor nodes will influence the channel characteristic, and this makes the channel time varying. In order to ensure the transmission quality, this paper carried out some research on the compression of source information and information processing based on the estimation of the movement activity and channel, and proposed a transmission scheme adapted to WBAN.Firstly, this paper analyzed the channel characteristic in WBAN and found that this channel was energy limited and time varying. After this, we also discussed the traditional compression method of the information source and pointed out the shortcomings. This paper proposed a compression method based on WBAN which can adapt to this time varying channel. We should consider the time varying of the channel when making the source compression because of the change of the channel. This method carried on curve fitting of the pre-processed information source, set up the codebooks according to these fitting parameters, and then transmitted and adjusted these parameters due to the channel characteristics. Then this paper considered the bit error as a Markov process, and updated this process through the channel time varying and the channel estimation to adjust the transmission. With this estimation, we can improve the detection capability and the transmission capability of the source information, increase the utilization of the channel, and improve the system performance in the time varying channel.
