In recent years, the road construction in our country, especially the highway construction develops rapidly. However, the pavement that suffers distress also increased due to varies quality of different construction companies and other reasons. It is very essential to detect the pavement quality in order to find the reasons that caused pavement's or roadbed's damage correctly and provide design basic for this. As a non-osculating and non-destructive pavement detection technology, the Ground Penetrating Radar (hereafter called GPR), is not only with the characteristic of high-precision, low-cost and multi-aspects, but also with the characteristic of efficiency which could obtain all the information of target ground in a short time and provide necessary information for evaluation and maintenance of the road. GPR has been widely accepted as a non-destructive technology by inside and outside.This thesis firstly introduces GPR's constitution and principles and analyzes its capability and main parameter's selection. Secondly, several data processing methods are explained considering the character of the data the GPR collected. Afterwards the traveling time of the wave in the pavement is computed by the technology of pavement automatic test and tracing and the speed of wave in the pavement is obtained by measuring dielectric constant. Therefore, the thickness of the pavement can be figure out to prepare for the latter evaluation of quality of the pavement by the two parameters upwards. At last, the paper introduced the GPR data processing software based on virtual instrument software developing platform and carries on related experiments. The results of the experiments show that the detection technology of pavement quality based on GPR is accurate and reliable. Key Words:GPR, pavement detection, data processing, dielectric constant...
