Design And Implementation Of XDM Server In Converged Communications

With the development of the telecommunications industry, voice services are in a pause, and the revenue of data services in total revenue as rise rapidly. In the worldwide, the number of mobile users is more than the number of fixed-line users, and the entire telecommunications industry profit center gradually move to mobile, data services and communications integrated services. In this environment, the concept of converged communications is proposed.Based on IP (Internet Protocol), converged communications is consisted of voice, video, data and information services, providing a wealth of integrated services. Users can use variety of terminal to access to the network to use converged communications services. And converged communications enables the integration of the various communication services and the integration of the user experiences.This paper focuses on design and implementation of XDM (eXtensible markup language Document Management) server in converged communications. The XDM server is responsible for maintenance all the data of converged communications platform. So, how to fast manager all data is the key in converged communications platform. This paper is divided into five parts to describe the design and implementation of XDM server in converged communications.The first part introduces the concept of converged communications, analyzing the present research and development trend on converged communications both in china and aboard.The second part analyzes the design and implementation of XDM server. Firstly, it gives a requirement conclusion of the XDM sever and the definition of the documents, and gets the architecture design of the XDM server from the overall structure of the converged communications platform. Secondly, it gives a brief description of the protocols which are used by the external interface of the XDM server, and explains the detailed design of the modules of the XDM server and includes descriptions of the Spring technology, AOP(Aspect Oriented Programming) technology, XML(eXtensible Markup Language) parse technology in the design and realization of the module. In order to maintain the XDM server later on, logging is quite essential. So the part also introduces the log records and in the meantime presents the main process design for the entire XDM server.The third part focuses on the difficulties design and implementation of XDM server. The mainly difficulties are summarized as follows:the first one is the design of the database; the second one is how to design the company phonebook to strengthen the user experience; the third one is how to research and implementation of the XDM server high availability, because the converged communications plaform should provide users with continuous services.The fourth part analyses the tests of the XDM server. And the tests include performance testing and stability test.The fifth part talks about the next work, pointing out the shortcomings of the XDM server and putting forward suggestions for improvement...
