Design And Implementation Of Application Server Cluster Management System

Along with the development of networking techonology, cluster systems have been widely applied. An application server(AS) cluster offers high performance that a single server can not achieve. In a cluster system, management is especially important. Effective management can evidently enhance utilization. The Application Server Cluster Management System contributes to deal with this issue.The AS Cluster Management System offers management to the cluster. Different cluster managements aim at different goals, as a result, each system emphasizes particularly on a certain consideration. In this paper, in view of service character, technology evolution and objective, we will take EBAS (Ebupt Application Server) as an example to introduce the key functions of the AS Cluster Management System.The AS Cluster System introduced in this paper is divided into three main modules, Control Center, Message Dispatcher and Daemon Manager. Control Center monitors the entire system. Message Dispatcher dispatches messages to nodes in the system. Daemon Manager listens to state changes of processes.This paper firstly introduce the concepts, characters and functions of the AS Cluster Management System, then EBAS is suggested to illustrate the infrastructer of an AS Cluster Management System, a solution is given as well. Based on the key techniques refered in this paper, we will discuss the design and implementation of each main module. At last, this paper reviews the system and gives a prospect for the development of this system.
