Since the test system in traditional network management interface conformance testing is designed and coded according to specific network management specification or interface technology, changes of specifications or introductions of new interface technologies will result in the failures in it and needs of recoding. With continuous changes in 3G network management requirements and diverse development in network management interface technologies, specifications of 3G network management interface have been in frequent evolutions, which bring great challenges to perform the conformance testing. Designing and implementing an appropriate network management interface test system, which is adaptive for requirement changes and multi-technology is of great significance.Based on the ideas of model driven architecture (MDA) and model-driven testing (MDT), and the analysis of 3G network interface models, this paper applies model-driven testing method to the 3G network management interface conformance testing. The core thought of this method is to derive the interface test models from the 3G network interface models. With the transformations and reuses of test models the impacts from specifications changes and technological innovations can be minimized. On the analysis of requirements, a model-driven testing system for 3G network management interface is designed and implemented. For the characters of 3G network management interface models, this testing system derives test case model from interface analysis model automatically with transformation in platform specific model (PSM) level and test scenario model from interface design model semi-automatically with transformation in platform independent model (PIM) level. As this testing system also provides a series of auto-testing functions such as testing target templates auto-generation, testing tasks auto-execution, testing results auto-judgment, testing reports auto-generation and so on, it can be an auto-testing solution adaptive for requirement changes and multi-technology.
