We take "The Study on Tourism Intelligent Navigation System Based on Broadband Network" (863 project) as the research task in this thesis, and we design and implement the server side for the tourism navigation and rescue system. The following is the main work done in the thesis:(1) Implementing the communication between sever and mobile terminal, the GPRS network and computer network are used as the communication link between server and terminal. The socket server is established to receive terminal's information and send information to the terminal.(2) The terminal's information is classified and stored by the server with keyword matching and database technology. The terminal information includes registration information, login information, location information, query information and information for help. For some special information, they will respond.(3) Implementing the function of inquiry and management for the tourism information with the technology of site electronic map. The site electronic map function is realized by the MapXtreme control, the terminals'position and movement track can be displayed in the electronic map; the distribution information of scenic tourist is shown using web chart control.(4) The electronic map orientation function is implemented by keyword matching. The navigation function in electronic map is realized based on dijkstra shortest path algorithm.This thesis aims to design and implement a platform which can communicate with a terminal having the function of GPS positioning and GPRS communication. The server can receive the information sent by the terminal and store the information efficiently, for some special information, it will respond. The managers of the scenic can master the situation of the scenic with the system, and scenic tourist can use the orientation and navigation functions by web browser.
