In the age of information, access network is one of the priorities in the development of national information infrastructure. To meet the need for large capacity, high speed, the access network has become more broad-banded, seamless and diversified. The wide use of DSL, Wi-Fi, PON have propelled the overall progress of the access network. The technology of access network can be divided into two categories:wireline access and wireless access. Wireline access technologies include:DSL technology, HFC-based Cable Modem technology and PON technology, in which EPON excels and has been used in a larger market because it is cost-effective, easily repairable and highly reliable.Because EPON standard is described in natural language text, different venders'different understandings of the agreement will lead to consistency problems. In order to resolve the conformance testing issues, an automated multi-tasking testing platform that has unified protocol data generation and analysis interface, test management, test preparation etc. is of great importance.In this paper, the principles of EPON, the concept of protocol conformance testing, and two script languages TCL and TTCN were first introduced, followed by the analysis of the need for automated testing of EPON software. In the section of designing and virtualization of this platform, the logical structure and the organization of script library were described in detail as well as the development and implementation of script library for testing platform and WinPcap. Finally, several cases were given and discussed.
