The functions of the existing communication networks resource management system are confined in the ways of offering data sheets or texts. Information is mostly arranged in data reports, texts or blueprints. Therefore, to some extent, such systems have some demands on users to possess certain professional knowledge, and lack visuality and user-friendly interface, and more important, it's hard to ensure the effectiveness of management. Moreover, in most cases, networks resource management system is supposed to offer supports and services for all units in the network, while users in all units varies in professional qualities. So, this also sets up the bar for unified management. In conclusion, we know that there's increasing needs for more visualized services in networks resource management systems.In order to enhance the management towards fiber network resources in military communication networks, especially implementing the visualized management of the spatial positions of optical fiber lines resources, such like when there's a failure happened to some line resource, we need to locate the failed resource accurately and efficiently, and work out the optimized substituted scheme to reallocate the resources, we have to implement to display the resources on e-maps with the aid of geographic information system (GIS) technology. For another aspect, in order to facilitate the user operation, uninfluenced by the variation of operating platforms, GIS based on WEB (WEB GIS) is a better adoption to consider.This paper first does some in-depth research about WEB GIS technology, including its backgrounds, deployment modes, and implementation methods. Also, it introduces the cooperation between WEB GIS and AJAX, and the application of the shortest path analysis in WEB GIS. Then, according to the user demands about the functions of visualized management and analysis of fiber network resources in integrated networks management system of military communication networks, the author design and implement the function subsystem for dynamical presentation and analysis of fiber network resource based on WEB GIS technology. The subsystem realized the e-map display and management of optical fiber communication networks resources which includes stations, lines, points, maintenance centers and the like. The subsystem also implemented the pre-alarm function of the utilization rate of line resources and extended the function by adding the special topic map analysis and the optimized substituted scheme for users to refer to. Finally, the paper provides possible suggestions to optimize this subsystem's performances, and points out the directions for further research.
