As a hot research direction in computer science, wireless sensor network draw a wide attention in recent years both by the academia and industry, which was considered to have enormous influence of new technologies.Among them, the energy problem of sensor nodes is one of the key problems in the research field of wireless sensor networks. Because the size of a sensor node is generally small, the battery power is very limited, while the nodes are usually deployed in broad areas, and it is difficult to replace the batteries.In order to extend the life time of wireless sensor network, we consider it from two considerations: energy efficiency and energy balance. For the enengy balance consideration, non-uniform node distribution strategy has been proposed from the network infrastructure level. However, the node transmission distance is not reflected in the previous study. But there is big relevance between the transmission distance and the energy efficiency, which means the transmission distance could affect the life time of the network significantly.The work of this paper includes:1)Based on a previous non-uniform distribution method, we analyze energy consumptions under different corona width, and then derive a distribution model with optimal average transmission distance under circular network. Results demonstrate an efficiency increase of 24% compared to networks with unadjusted corona widths. Moreover, after the adjustment of the first corona width, we enhance another energy efficiency increase by 2%. And the lifetime of the network is prolonged.2)Under circular network, we also did some research based on"thin" corona model, which can make the nodes which at different positions have a better way to transmit data. Experiments prove under the"thin"corona state, both the energy efficiency and balance have further raise than that of the distribution strategy in circular network.
