Computer-assisted dental implant surgical planning software provides physicians with an observation, measurement and analysis software platform, doctors can analyze rationally bone situation and bone three-dimensional structural in defect region before the operation., further, determine a reasonable planting location, planting depth, and planting angle, finally work out a specific surgery. Assisted planning software has changed the traditional surgical planning methods by observing plain film X so that doctors can carry out in the planting region prior to surgery intuitional observation, accurate measurement and virtual surgery simulation and so on, greatly increased the intuitive, security, accuracy of implant surgery.Lab with Shanghai East Hospital dental worked closely to develop a computer-assisted implant surgery planning system applied to dental. We repeatedly visit to the East hospital and made a fruitful discussion with doctors. We design the surgical planting system interface and features according to doctor's needs and conveniences. We debug and tested the system by a large number of dental data provided by the East hospital, and initially used in clinical surgery planting.This paper developed a system with absorbing the advantages of similar foreign commercial software and added some features which are not available in most of the software, provided doctors with more practical technologies, such as observing of the axis of tooth toward, translating of vectors, dynamic updating of spline curve and so on. Most of the commercial-assisted planning software generate virtual slices which is not along the axis of the tooth , so implants would not be planted along the axis of the tooth according to this planning program, it is clear that this is not the best plantation programs. The technology of observing along the axis of tooth toward presented in this paper can allow doctors to observe the specific direction of the axis of tooth and reconstruct virtual slices along the axis, to determine the largest planting depth and the most reasonable planting angle. The technology of dynamic updating spline curve in this paper provides doctors to dynamically update the spline curve when the markers were planted unreasonably, which considerably saves the doctor's workload.Base on computer graphic, image process and computer visualization, the main research contents of this paper includes:(1) Reading DICOM medical images and 3D reconstruction (2) Generating virtual cutting surface and assisted measurements(3) Virtual plant surgery...
