| The application of three-dimensional laser scan technology is very broad. It has a wide range of applications in many areas, such as reverse engineering, data visualization, computer aided design, virtual reality, digital heritage, digital museum, digital archaeology, topographic surveying, digital city, urban planning, digital entertainment (games, animation, and movie), etc. Although the hardware of laser scan system is relatively mature, the corresponding research on data post-processing theory and methods is still in its early stages. Currently, it is still unavailable for us to automatically extract a variety of vector information directly from the laser scan data. In view of the prospect of broad application of three-dimensional laser scan technology, it is bound to become an academic research hotspot.This paper firstly introduces the status of the development of three-dimensional laser scan data processing technology both at home and abroad, application fields, and characteristics of three-dimensional laser scan technology. It also briefly describes the three-dimensional data acquisition methods, analyzes the format and characteristics of three-dimensional laser scanned raw data, and on this basis proposes format conversion algorithm flow of the laser scanned raw data. Secondly, the article elaborates the mathematical model of three-dimensional point cloud data space coordinate transformation, and analyzes the approach for multi-viewpoint data by applying the mathematical model. The following part of the paper introduces two approaches of spatial data registration based on corresponding points and ICP algorithm, and comparatively analyzes two methods of corresponding points matching. Then, on the basis of above theoretical research, the paper focuses on the three-dimensional data processing system design. The system consists of three-dimensional data acquisition program and three-dimensional point cloud display program; the article describes design process for the two kinds of software, and their performance are tested and analyzed.At last, there is a summarization of the paper. It also proposes some problems in the research that need to be improved. The direction of improvement and prospects of future work are included as well. |
