As an essential element in mine workings, laneways play an important role in digital mines system. Since laneways are crisscrossed underground, it is hard to visually represent the geometrical configuration and spatial position of laneway by 2D graphics. Therefore it is necessary to find a proper method to realize laneway's surface reconstruction and 3D simulation.Considering the strengths of vector model in 3D surface reconstruction, the paper presents a generation method which can generate 3D laneway and smooth joints at the same time and make sure the shape of generated laneway is correct. Aiming at the laneway connection problem, the method inserts rotated sections on joints, generating laneway and smoothing the joints at a time. It ensures the seamlessness of laneway joints and simplifies the complexity of the method as well.In practical application, laneways are always co-existed with other geological objects. In order to represent the spatial relationship between laneways and other geological objects, the paper presents a region coloring method on laneway surface. It assigns the same attribute value to the laneway surface region which intersected with the same object and then fills the different laneway surface region with different color according to the attribute value. The color clearly marks the spatial position of intersected region and the objects which intersected with laneways.On the basis of given model scene, the paper presents a calculation method which is suitable for laneway cruise. The method smooths the cruise path first, and then gets laneway floor normal as up vector of sightline, stretches the distance between eyes position and center point, makes visual effect more natural and smooth. Finally, It combines OpenGL to realize 3D laneway dynamic cruise. It provides the most directly tool to optimize layout and verify topology from inner laneway.
