The researches on Semantic Web and Web Service both aim to set up auto-intelligence service and the installations for managing business. They both base on using the content that man and computer can read and understand to achieve mutual benefit. We can say, Semantic Web Service is the extension of Web service in semantic, as well as the development of Semantic Web in process. With the help of SAWSDL, Semantic Web Service adds the semantic information to Web Service, to make the discovery, the combination and the invoking of the Web Service more automatic and intelligent.First, this paper briefly introduces the background of this topic. Then it expatiates on the main issue and the key technology in Web Service. And it summarizes the way to discover the Web Service. Afterward, it analyses how SAWSDL puts the semantic information into Web Service. Also it describes the architecture of Web service.Second, the way of measuring semantic similarity in domain ontology is proposed. Through assigning different weights to each different edge in hierarchy tree of domain ontology, we can get the semantic distance between two concepts, by calculating the shortest path. Then we will know the semantic similarity. We will also learn how the edges with different depths or different densities affect semantic distance. Afterward, we will obtain the input and output similarity between the requesting services and the requested services. Eventually by the bipartite graph optimal matching, we can find the degree of match.Finally, an experiment carries out and it well verifies this way of discovering Web Service. We also test our algorithm using the SAWSDL-TC from DFKI and it proves its efficiency and effectiveness. This paper also shows the next research step to make the technology of Web Service discovery more perfect.
