As one of the effective advanced control strategies, the Internal Model Control (IMC) has being applied into practice more widely and meanwhile it is gathering more and more attention. Using Internal model control strategy can achieve better control performance than traditional PID strategy, especially in multivariable processes control domain. A large number of practical applications and theoretical research have proved that within multi-inputs and multi-outputs (MIMO) systems the Internal Model Control has much more advantages, for example, easy calculation,quick response speed, simple design method, system stability, nice tracking performance and great robustness, and so forth.In order to design IMC controllers, this dissertation used IMC technology to analysed the control strategy for multivariable time delay object and split-ring unstable time delay object, and combined the multivariable fuzzy control strategy with IMC structure to design fuzzy IMC control structure.The paper discussed structure, basic principle, typical design methods and character of Internal Model Control. In order to control the unstable time delay processes this paper adopted an improved IMC structure, meanwhile, we can uesed fuzzy control algorithm to tune the controller parameters on line, that the control quality would be improved largely.In this paper we discussed four kinds of IMC design methods, sucn as, model reduction decoupling IMC, main loop multivariable IMC, V-norm decoupling IMC and control and decoupling integration IMC for the square multivariable systems. Meanwhile,in order to realize model reduction we discussed the NLJ optimizing algorithm. Take multivariable processes with time delay for example,this paper represented the establishment of fuzzy rules,theoretical analysis of structure and concrete realization of controller so as to represented a fuzzy internal model control method.
