Recently, the promulgation of IEC61131-3 international standard push the development of the soft programmable logic control technique and lead the industry control field into a new stage, in which the performance of industry control systems is enhanced on the aspects of open, flexible, and portability. With the embedded system, network communication technique, human-machine interaction technique and profibus technique are in widespread use, the embedded soft PLC appeared.The paper provides a system design schema mainly on the basis of the IEC61131-3 international standard, especially by doing research on the architecture and working principles of the soft PLC. In the paper, the whole system design schema of soft PLC based ARM 9 is achieved by selecting German 3S company's CoDeSys software as programming system and South korea Samsung company's S3C2410 embedded experiment board as hardware platform. Especially, the paper focus on how to design and achieve the runtime system of soft PLC which is encapsulated on S3C2410 processor. During the design process, three kinds of schema are put forwarded and finally runtime system is achieved based on CoDeSys SP and LINUX OS.In the paper, the IEC611313-3 standard which must be followed on the design and achieve process of controlled system is summarized at first, from the aspects of the history, features, five kinds of normalized programming languages and structured software model. Secondly, the history and features of soft PLC are also introduced, and by means of analyzing the working principles, the general architecture of the system are put forwarded. Then, the CoDeSys software is selected as programming system,and the functions and features of the programming system and CoDeSys sp core are introduced. The paper discusses the achieve scheme of real-time multitasking operating system, and particularly designs and put forwarded three kinds of achieve methods of the runtime system and finally achieve it based on CoDeSys sp core. Lastly, The paper constructs the hardware platform of controlled system with the breadboard using S3C2410 microprocessor and LINUX OS, achieves the communication between the Operating system and runtime system, and between runtime system and peripheral devices.
