Radar Automatic Target Recognition System Analysis And Implementation

Radar automatic target recognition technique is the domain where radar technique and pattern recognition technique interact with each other, which has important application value. It gradually turns to one of the key components of future defense radar systems and is widely and intensively focused by all of the countries. In recent years, radar automatic target recognition has received intensive attention in radar technology field,many new algorithms have been mentioned incessantly. Currently, with all kinds of algorithms being researched intensively and the gradually mature wideband radar technology, it is being transferred from theoretic study to engineering implementation.This dissertation mainly discusses radar automatic target recognition technology on the base of high range resolution profiles (HRRP). Firstly, the paper introduces the scatters model of high-resolution radar target and analyses the property of HRRP and the common solution to these problems. Secondly, maximum correlation coefficient method, adaptive Gaussian method and kernel function method are introduced in details. We also analysis and design the classifier with these methods. At the end, we design the configuration of the system which mainly includes three parts. In the part of host we design the control and display interface with MFC. We also realize the software simulative method using MATLAB and Visual C++ combine programming method. In target system called VxWorks, we design multi-thread program for the classifier. For the communication between the two parts, we realize two methods which use the network communication and VME bus. The method in this paper is an integrated scheme for the radar automatic target recognition,which is simple and convenient.
