This paper mainly focuses on the mutual coupling analysis and error correction of the coast-ship bi/multi-static ground wave Over-the-Horizon synthetic impulse and aperture radar.Firstly, according to the requirements of the ground wave radar, the transmitting array is composed of several dipole antennas. Then the performance of those dipole antennas in different antenna parameters are simulated and analyzed using the software HFSS. Moreover, the beam-forming pattern of the sub-array which is composed of three dipole antennas is simulated and analyzed. The method of moment is used to calculate the self-impedance, impedances between the array elements and the changing of the mutual coupling with the spacing and length of the array elements theoretically. The simulation results of the model built in HFSS and the results of MoM are compared. The influence of amplitude-phase error and mutual coupling to the array are simulated. The mathematical error model of transmitting array is also described. An algorithm using direct wave to calibrate the transmitting array amplitude-phase error is proposed, which is similar to the active error correction in the single base. For the existence of both mutual coupling and magnitude-phase errors at the same time, in order to calibrate transmitting array errors in the receiving station, the theory of the sub-space and multiple direct waves are used to estimate the error. The results show the effectiveness of the method.
