The research of Sound source localization technology is related to acoustic, signal detection, digital signal processing, electronics, software design and many other topics of new technologies. Obviously, the study of the sound source localization involves comprehensive and complex theoretical knowledge and actual circumstances. It was needed to adopt extensive of advanced technologies to achieve good research results. It also can make a great importance in many military and civilian systems. In military systems, it provides effective guarantees for weapons to destroy the ultimate enemy accurately. In civilian systems, it can provide reliable service to target which played the role of safety and security. Such as the positioning system of mobile phones. As the technology of sound source localization is the method of passive detection. The technology is not communication interference, and also can work around the clock. However, with the complexity of the environment of the sound source localization, and the inevitable variety of noise interference in processing of signal acquisition to the voice signal that made the positioning becoming a challenging research topic.Under such circumstances, the system of multicenter simultaneous sampling data acquisition and processing based on the planar array of five sensors crossed was introduced in the article. First the technology of the sound source localization which is about determining direction and distance from the received signal to the receiving sensor was introduced. The Bearing Estimating which is also called the Direction Finding or DOA (Direction-of Arrival). Second, we discuss the Time Delay Estimation Algorithm. Which the signal propagation is different from the distance of microphone or microphone array which called TDE-Time Delay Estimation for accomplish the bearing estimating and range estimating was used in the algorithm. If the estimate of the value of the delay of sound waves reach the each array element is accurate, we can calculate the parameter estimators of target location based on the geometric relationship of microphone array. Then the system of multicenter simultaneous sampling data acquisition and processing based on the planar array of five sensors crossed was introduced in article. Analyzes and discuss the thought of design and chart of principle. Based on multicenter simultaneous AD, USB2.0 data transfer interface and PC, realize multicenter simultaneous sampling data acquisition and processing from the signal of target. It also can realize recognition and localization of sound source. Analyzes the microphone array models for sound source localization, such as planar array of five sensors crossed. We have carried on the computer simulation to analyze the accuracy of the planar array of five sensors crossed. Discuss the basic properties of the algorithm based on the Generalized Cross Correlation by computer simulation.
