| The college computer lab is a public site where many tasks, such as computer practice and free operation outside-class by college students and teaching operation in-class by teachers, are performed. However, it is a difficult task to maintain computer lab due to the enormous computer, complex software requirement as well as a considerable number of users. Therefore, the maintenance efficiency of computer lab, the reduction of the work intensity of maintainers and the improvement the good condition of the equipments are the necessary parts of research for the software maintenance in the computer lab of the college.Though some computer companies develop computers particularly used in the computer lab in the college and network bar to enhance the maintenance efficiency of software system with the combination of multicast and System Restore, a majority of computer labs in the college where the above mechanisms are not available in the unique computer have to adopt another method. In this thesis, some conclusions are reached after the investigation of the hardware environment in college and the analysis and comparison of the present methods of software systems. Firstly, the application of LAN based on multicast clone can increase the speed of system installation. In addition, remote modification technology can be used to modify the network marks and IP address. Finally, the remote control technology is convenient for teachers to supervise the students during the class time. Accordingly, the maintenance method proposed in this thesis which combites the above methods is advantageous, including low cost, high reliability and high quality.This thesis researches on the the key technologies for the software maintenance of the college computer lab, such as remote boot, multicast clone, remote modification and remote control. The remote boot is implemented based on PXE. Multicast clone is on the basis of Ghost.The remote monitoring and control functions are realized through remote modification, romote ON/OFF computer and remote monitoring (RMON). In this way, the maintenance efficiency of computer lab and the good condition of the equipment are improved greatly. The scheme is suitable for the college computer lab. |
