ABSTRACT:Raman fiber lasers (RFL) which Raman fiber lasers(RFL)which base on the stimulated Raman scattering(SRS) effect, can generate any wavelengths output if it is pumped with an appropriate pump source and feedback elements. Cascaded Raman fiber lasers (CRFLs) have some advantages, such as longer gain medium, lower noise, broader turning, multi-wavelengths output and high coupling efficiency. As the rapid development of the modern communications network and the other new data transmission service, we are going to run out of our existing wave band, such as wave band C and wave band L, so it's very insistent to study and develop new wave band. This dissertation analyzes the principle of RFL and optimizes the output power. The details show as following:(1) The introduction of the meaning of U-wave band Raman fiber laser and the its state of development at home and abroad. The general introduction of Spontaneous Raman Scattering, Stimulated Raman Scattering, fiber laser, Raman effect in fiber and key problem in my program.(2) the experiment of 1.55um doubly coated fiber amplifier, which is used as pump of 1.66um Raman fiber laser, including wear and tear testing, delivered power and spectrum testing.(3) The experiment of 1.66um Raman fiber amplifier, which is also based on Stimulated Raman Scattering.(4) Introduction of classification and advantage of Raman fiber laser. The foundation of mathematical model of U Raman fiber laser, and working-out the delivered power vary with the length of fiber in theory.
