This thesis discusses and studies the status of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in steel industry and the significance in the development of MES. It is based on the theory related to the J2EE framework, MVC design model, B/S model etc and it builds the optimized business relationship models by studying and analyzing the production process in Baogang Coking Plant. Besides, it carries out the B/S technoloty architecture of the MES,which is based on the J2EE, in Baogang Coking Plant.This thesis discusses in detail the requirements analysis on MES, system design, database design and system implementation on the Web platform of the MES in Baogang Coking Plant. The MES includes planning management, raw material management, scheduling management, producing management, quality management, sales management, production statistical management and so on.This thesis describes the system used RUP project management methodology in the implementation process,so it avoids the risk of system development.What's more, it realizes the scientific norms by using the modeling language to the requirement and design stage.The system has been successfully running on the line in Baogang Coking Plant, which makes the Plant benefit a lot in profit and market competitiveness.
