Today of science and technology with rapid change, the development of Internet's information technology is swift and more violent too, production and people's work, learning, life and survival mode, thinking patterns of the network to society are exerting a greater and greater influence. Especially with the walking close quietly of WEB2.0 times, various kinds of new technologies and new methodologies of the WEB have emerged, the value of AJAX technology higlighted. WEB technologies based on AJAX can avoid the cumbersome software deployment, change interactive mode from the original synchronous to asynchronous, aceess to data of page-demand in the baekground, and update pages aceording to local needs. Not only save bandwidth, has it more greatly enhanced the user experience. Around the world-renowned software companies have devoted special resources to research and development, this will be very helpful to promote the establishment of new interaction mode.In this paper, we first analyze the definition of AJAX and related technologies, by analyzing the principle and the four key techniques of AJAX, we describe the advantages and disadvantages of AJAX technology, and offer the application scope of AJAX. And we also pointed out a number of shortcomings of the traditional WEB applications. Second, we introduce the SVG vectorgraph to be applied to WEBGIS. And we analyze the technical features of SVG.We propose the organization and coding scheme for geographic spatial data based on SVG.Lastly, the research of realization technology of AJAX. As a campus WEBGIS example, combined with features of AJAX techniques and practical application demands, from the system level analysis and design, the paper elaborates on concrete realization of the process of prototype system of WEBGIS to achieve the AJAX application.
