Since the Ultra Wide Band (UWB) wireless communication has lots of advantages such as high data transfer rate, low power consumption, high positioning accuracy and strong ability of anti-multipath and so on, it has been the subject of extensive research in the short-range wireless communication area. Among them, the space-time code and channel estimation are key technologies in ultra wide band communication systems. This paper presents a space-time block coding based on the TH-PPM ultra wideband system, which uses two transmit antennas and one receive antenna, space-time block coding using Alamouti real-valued constellation map. The transmitting signals are modulated in TH-PPM and encoded by STBC and then send to the indoor wireless channel. The received signals are feed into the STBC decoder and then demodulated by TH-PPM demodulator. It is assumed that the transmitter has the knowledge about channel state information. Simulation results show that the performance of TH-PPM UWB systems with the STBC scheme is improved. |
