People have studied on the immune system, especially on the artificial immune system, from different scopes using different subjects for many year. As a Highly evolved biological information processing system, artificial immune system can identify and eliminate pathogens and it has capabilities of learning, memory and pattern recognition, it is a general terms of various types of biological information processing mechanism and smart system, which developed from studying, learning from and use of biological information processing mechanism of the immune system and their applications in engineering and science.Researchers in the world just researched on the theory of artificial immune system for long time and then applied it into the fields including, artificial intelligence, Failure technology, data mining, pattern recognition, robotics, computer science, control and optimization, while the Chinese researchers have not started to research on it until about ten years ago, however, the researches in china are mostly limit to Tracking and application of the theory explored, there is no original research .As a bionic intelligence system, artificial immune system has been widely applied to control, optimization and fault diagnosis, anomaly, data mining and computer network security projects. This paper describes the structure, mechanism and characteristics of biological immune system, this paper also analyses principle, algorithm of the artificial immune system. The research situation of artificial immune system is described in a systematic way. Moreover, we have some modified on immune algorithm to applications.On Principles of the immune system: firstly, we describes the structures of biological immune system, focusing on the basic structures and their mechanisms and effects of lymphocytes, natural killer cells and phagocytic cells; secondly, give a summary on biological immune system and its features including immune response, immune memory, auto - tolerance and other important mechanism of clonal selection theory and the self-adaptive, diversity, robustness and self-organizing process.On algorithm of the immune system: firstly, introducing the general artificial immune algorithm, standard artificial immune algorithm, colonial selection algorithm, negative selection algorithm , immune genetic algorithm and other artificial immune algorithm; secondly, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of CLONALG ,then proposed MNACSA , and described its mechanism, Memory technology, the best individual suppress high-frequency operation and adaptive mutation rate; Lastly, comparing the CLONALG and MNACSAin several classical multi-modal function , the final results show thatMNACSAusing in a multi-modal function optimization with the outstanding advantages.On the immune mechanism: the organism's immune system refers to the feedback from the biological external violations of antigens, and then prompted a series reactions of antibodies and antigen-binding, the reactions eventually produce special enzymes or phagocytosis to remove antigens thoroughly. The lymphocytes in biological immune system is composed of B cells and T cells, B cells are produced by bone marrow cells and T cells are produced by thymus cells. T cells can be divided into helper cells ( T H)and inhibitory cells( TS ), the functions of T Hand TS to B cells are activation and inhibition. Once the antigen breaks into the body and processed by the antigen-presenting cells, it will pass the information to T H and TS , and then stimulate the B cells; B cells produce antibodies to eliminate the antigen? when the antigen's more, TH is more, while TS is less, an increase in the number of B cells antibodies would eventually make the antigen cells decreased, with reduction of antigen and T H , the increasing of TS in the system, the B cells and the antibody would reduce. The immune feedback system will tend to balance after the immune response over a period of time , it is obviously that this mechanism can solve the industrial temperature control problem which cannot solve in the PID control. In this section, firstly, describing the mechanisms of immune feedback, Gray Prediction Control, Fuzzy Control and fuzzy immune algorithm. Secondly, dominating the mechanisms above to design a GPFIP? PID, and then compare it with IP? PIDand FP? PID in the Temperature Control System of Power Plant. The results highlighted the advantages of GPFIP? PID.At the end of paper,giving a summary of this study,and proposing the understanding and outlook of artificial immune system.
