Water resources data has heterogeneous, distributed and dynamic natures. Nowadays t he lack of norms and standards on data management model in water resources field ma king it difficult to meet the needs of cross-regional, inter-disciplinary information sharin g and collaboration and water resources high performance computing, and it also becam e the bottleneck in the development of water resource managemant. In recent years, the development of grid computing technology provides a solution for the problems above. The characters such as Physical dispersion, Logical concentration, On-demand acuipentnc e, Distributted proccesing of Grid computing tecnology can effectivly support the hydrol ogic data applcation in the heterogeneous, distributed and dynamic enviroment. This pap er briefly introduced the developedstatus of Grid computing, then a Data Center faced t o water resources grid computing appliaction was put forward to meet the data applicati onal needs of water resources grid computing. The design of Data Center was to solve the problem of data's integerating in the heterogeneous, distributed enviroment; the Data Center was supportted by Meta-Data, Data WareHouse and XML tecnologies; the develo ping target of Data Center was to realise data performence and application. The Data C enter had higher efficiency by performance test, compared to the traditional developing model:the Data Center improved the applicational ability, and it also had scalability a nd generality. The main achievements of this paper were following:(1)Based on the summaries of previous experiences, combined with the needs of water resource high performance computing, a new data management paltform----Data ce nter was put forward, and the designing architecture of Data Center was also given.(2)It concluded the virtues and defects of data integeration tecnology in the field of water resources informatization currently, intorduced the Meta data, Data WareHouse,XM L tecnologies, built the model of water resource meta data. The water resource metadat a based on the model of water resource meta data could effectly solve the problem of data integeration in the heterogeneous, distributed enviroment, and it also built the water resource meta database of water resource meta data.(3)It adopted XML tecnology to realise the querying and unfolds of water resource meta data, an optimal querying algorithm based on Key Word Searching---Xsatack was i ntroduced to increase the querying efficiency.(4)The development of Data Center was under the MVC Pattern based on Struts ar chitecture. At last, for testing the Data Center's performance, the data center was depol yed on the development of Shanxi Province Rain Regime Brief Report.
