Peer-to-Peer technology is one of important network technologies in recent years. It provides a powerful resource sharing capability and robustness and brings a huge convenience to many internet users. However, different resources have different popularity as well as free-riding behavior become increasingly serious in peer network, which makes the distribution of resources has become very uneven. And users often unlimitedly wait for an absence block in P2P system. This above phenomenon is called BLP (Block Leecher Problem). This paper argues that a good overlay topology is an important way to improve the BLP problem. Therefore, we proposed a group-based P2P file-sharing model for this problem. Similar to biological cell division structure, the model mainly construct a group structure that "naturally" understands information between groups, and according to inter-group messages and data transmission further enhances the connectivity between groups to achieve the purpose of improving the availability of resources. The mainly contents of this paper as follows:(1)Analysis the BLP phenomenon and its causes in P2P network, and summarized the existing literature to solve above the BLP problem,free-riding phenomenon at home and abroad.(2)This paper Summarizes P2P overlay network topology characteristics and proposes group-based P2P file-sharing model. In the model, nodes are divided into several groups, and utilizing group connectivity, proposes a self-adjusting method to determine the number of group members.(3)This paper presents two new download ways—the more the first and rarest-first for in-group and between groups to determine the distribution of in-group and out-group resource block. Then, according to in-group download principle and utilizing new node, we can analyze Free Rider nodes, which improve resource availability and distribution of resources.(4)In addition, simulation test on group P2P file-sharing model and compared with the BitTorrent model, the result show that this model is effective and feasible.
