The research works are made with scientific projects, the design method of the wearable conformal microstrip antenna arrays is presented. It includes two parts in this thesis:the engineering sample of wearable conformal antenna arrays carried on the girdle are made in the first part, and another engineering sample of wearable conformal antenna arrays carried on the vest are made in the second part.Firstly, the definition of conformal antenna is presented, the history and research status of the conformal antenna array technology are given. Furthermore, in order to introduce the engineering requirements of wearable antenna as a research background, the design methods of microstrip antenna arrays conformal on the waist are also under discussion. A modified E-shaped microstrip antenna element is designed to satisfy the wideband requirement of conformal antenna arrays. The wearable conformal antenna arrays carried on the girdle are simulated and optimized by commercial EDA software Ansoft HFSS. The simulated results show that the characters of this antenna are enough to content application. Then the engineering prototype of the antenna is fabricated and measured. The proposed wearable antenna working from 2.4GHz to 2.48GHz has characters that VSWR is less than 2, and the radiation characteristic is omnidirectional in H-plane. It is available for this design method to be applied in engineering.Secondly, because of the different carriers that antennas are applied to, the design method of wearable conformal antenna arrays carried on the vest is presented. The structure of the antenna is that the elements and the power splitters are independent of each other, which make the user more comfortable and free. And it make antenna conceal better. The wearable conformal antenna arrays carried on the vest are simulated and optimized by commercial EDA software Ansoft HFSS. The simulated results show that the characters of this antenna are enough to content application. On this condition, the prototype of this antenna is fabricated and measured. The measured results show that this antenna working from 2.4GHz to 2.48GHz has characters that VSWR is less than 2, and the radiation characteristic is omnidirectional in H-plane. In addition, the measured results show that this design method is valid and it can be applied.
