With the advantages of anti-ARM, anti-stealth, anti-jamming, passive radar system based on external illuminator is becoming an important trend in radar systems. The following content is included in this paper: interface of general signal processing board, CFAR, Terminal Data Processing of the radar system and design of the software platform. An overall design of the general signal processing board is presented at first. Then, back-end interface of the general signal processing board and windows driver model (WDM) are analyzed with emphasis, key points of driving program development is also given. FPGA timing logic connecting DSP and PCI bus is designed in Verilog HDL. Several kinds of CFAR algorithms combined with characteristics of passive radar system are analyzed and real data simulation results are given. Finally, some relative theory about Terminal Data Processing is introduced in this paper, mainly including track initializing, track association and track terminating. Real time data processing and display interface are implemented using C++ software language under windows system.
