Radar target recognition technology is receiving intensive attention in recent years. And deep research on those recognition algorithms has been carried out. The wideband radar echos include a wealth of target structure information, which has great potential in target recognition. So it is widely concerned. The developing of wideband radar and ultra-wideband radar technologies makes target recognition based on wideband radar not only has theoretical significance but also significant application value. When the range resolution cell is less than the size of target, the target echo is a distributed target arranging in many range cells, which is called high-resolution range profile (HRRP). Extracting feature informations from target HRRP and recognizing the target with them are the main content of radar target recogntion based on HRRP. Also, this dissertation focuses on radar target recogntion technology based on HRRP. Managing these new algorithms efficiently, calling them conveniently and realizing the automatization of recogntion process have active value for the project appliction of target recogntion on the base of theoretical research. At the same time, they are the springboard and main direction of this paper. This paper describes, firstly, the target HRRP generation mechanism and characteristics, several commonly used data pre-processing methods on high-resolution radar range profile, and three recognition algorithms, respectively. Then it focuses on how to use MATLAB and Visual C + + programming tools to realize the software development for radar target recognition system based on high-resolution range profile, meanwhile, functions of the system are described in detail. Finally, this paper discusses how to develop and organize those target recognition algorithms on the ADSP-TS101 general signal processing board platform, as well as a number of key issues of engineering development. The ultimate goal of this project is to establish a radar automatic target recognition system which can be applied to different radar platforms.
